Our Committee
We are always looking for parents/carers to support the preschool throughout the year. The Great Chesterford Community Preschool is run by a Management Committee made up of a group of volunteers known as Trustees. Without the Management Committee the Preschool could not operate and would close. If you think you could offer some time to become a Trustee please get in touch at chair@chesterfordspreschool.org.uk. We are always happy to have new trustees who can support the work of the Preschool.
Abbie Dixon

Hey I’m Abbie! Chair of the committee. You’ll often to see me at the preschool doors dropping off my son and chatting the ear off anyone who will listen. I joined the committee in 2022, having moved to the village in the pandemic, I was looking for a way to meet people, learn more about the preschool and have a positive impact on the community; joining the committee seemed the perfect opportunity.
My job is to keep the committee buzzing along and ensuring that the preschool is running as best as it can.
I hope to stay on the committee for at least as long as my son attends the preschool, so I’ve got a few years yet!

I joined the Committee in early 2022. My eldest daughter had a wonderful year at the preschool and I thought it would be great to be part of the team. I’m responsible for finding grants that the preschool can apply for to help reach our fundraising goal (ideas and suggestions always welcome!).
I hope to be part of the Committee until summer 2024.

I joined the Preschool Committee in November 2022, taking on the role of Treasurer and overseeing the Preschool’s finances. I wanted to give something back to the community and our wonderful Preschool, and what better way than utilising my skill set as an accountant! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her time at the Preschool, and I’m already looking forwarding to my youngest being able to attend in a couple of years!

My daughter loves the preschool and has learnt so much from our wonderful staff and from the other children.
I joined the committee in 2023, to help out and get to know more local parents. During the day I am an engineer at Plextech services, in Great Chesterford. In addition to my secretarial duties, i also paint faces at our wonderful events.

Ed joined the committee in August 2022. His son, William, was a very happy attendee of the pre-school. Ed lives in Ickleton and helps with all aspects of the preschool committee.

Hi, I’m Ronin’s Mum! I joined the committee after seeing just how amazing all the ladies are with our children. I wanted to give something back and help support both the committee and our wonderful Preschool.
I have been really welcomed into the committee and hope to support more fundraising events throughout the year.

My daughter joined the preschool when we moved to the village in 2022. I was so impressed with how quickly she settled in, and the ladies were all so welcoming to my family. This encouraged me to get involved in any way I could. I work in digital marketing, so naturally I took on some of the marketing responsibilities for the committee. Everyone has been so welcoming and it is a joy to work alongside the preschool ladies and the other committee members.
